ROLES AND DUTIES

• Preaches prepared sermons
• Leads worship services
• Coordinates and plans worship with staff and other members
• Trains and equips spiritual leaders 
• Is a team builder who promotes unity
• Is a source for information for committees, deacons, and members
• Leads and develops the church council
• Joins with deacons to visit sick, shut in, and bereaved
• Conducts weddings and funerals
• Provides guidance or makes referrals in crisis and other situations
• Has passion for evangelism- works with deacons to visit visitors and missing church members
• Is an ex-officio member of all committees (when needed)
• Follows Constitution/By Laws
• Serves as an administrator with day to day supervision of the church and church staff
• Works with congregation to bring about needed change

CHARACTERISTICS

• Is a Bible believer, scholar and student
• Has been called, ordained, and equipped to preach that which is biblically based
• Is a prayer warrior who seeks God’s guidance
• Is a good speaker who is articulate and understandable
• Possesses good morals and is always ethical
• Is a communicator
• Has respect for all persons
• Is willing to listen to all views but stands up for what is right
• Is organized so that tasks get done  
• Is a tither   
• Is compassionate
