Transition Team Covenant: ~
Seeking God’s anointing and guidance, we, the members of the Calvary Baptist Church Transition Team do hereby prayerfully enter into this covenant relationship with one another and with Pastor David.
We will
constantly seek God’s will as we work in unity to lead Calvary through the intentional interim process and we commit to patience in the process.
willingly listen to one another, respecting differences and always working towards consensus in all matters.
encourage and strengthen one another in spiritual discipline through prayer, regular Bible study, and having love one for the other.
be honest, approachable, committed and patient with one another as we openly and honestly communicate.
identify the issues in our church, both current and past, that have created dissension and seek reconciliation in order to learn from the past and move forward. In this process, we will avoid being negative and refuse to make assumptions.
behave professionally at all times and use our individual God-given gifts
share openly and honestly with the congregation all information agreed upon in group consensus, unless deemed confidential. We will involve the entire congregation in every phase of the intentional interim period.
support and encourage Pastor David throughout the intentional interim period. We will continue to challenge him to take care of himself and his family. We will uphold him in prayer, and we will be joyful in the work God has called us to do. We will choose to have fun as we work, pray, rejoice and mourn together.
As members of the Transition Team we request the following from Pastor David:
Spiritual discipline through prayer and regular Bible study
Godly guidance in the transition process, equipping us with needed tools to lead, empowering us to use our gifts, and helping us know what to do from step to step
Positive and balanced messages that both teach and challenge
Impartiality, expertise, spiritual guidance
Correction, encouragement, availability, help to keep us in check, holding us accountable to God, to Pastor David, and to Calvary Baptist Church
Honesty, strength, expertise
The gift of laughter and reminders to have fun along the way
