Congregational Update from the Transition Team: ~
     (Message to congregation regarding transition process)

We want to let you know a little about the transition process as we begin exploring the history of how God has moved in our church throughout the past.  We hope to discover our spiritual journey and identify remembrance stones along the way.  As we discover our past we want to be in tune to what God is calling us to do today, listening closely as we align our walk with Him.  Becoming a church with a purpose is crucial as we begin to move forward in a transition to a bright and meaningful future.

Looking at leadership in our church and answering the question “Are we developing God-fearing, spiritually alive leaders for Jesus Christ?”  “Are we being led in a direction that seeks God’s face in every decision?” As we look at the leadership in our church we must also ask the question “Who are our partners in ministry?” and “What is God’s detailed plan for Calvary’s future?”

Partners in ministry are our connections to God’s vision in Surry County and around the world.  Who are these partners and how do we establish partners that fit the mission for our church ministries? God calls churches to work with churches and ministries outside of Calvary connecting the body of Christ.  How do these partners fit into the overall mission for Calvary?

Lastly, we will explore where we are going spiritually as a church.  What is our future work for Christ? How is it that we are going to get there?  What is God’s design for us in this present generation, in our neighborhood and in our world?  How do we become intimately connected with Christ and fulfill His word?

We are honored and excited to be a part of God’s work in Calvary Baptist Church.  We know the conversation about the church’s past, its leadership, its connections, and its future must happen between all members of the church.  We must prepare for new leadership that God has for Calvary Baptist Church as we begin to look for a new pastor for the future.  We look forward to serving you, the congregation as we discover God’s vision for us.
